6. Election of Rapporteur
The Indonesian delegation was unanimously elected as the Rapporteur of the meeting.

 

7. Matters Arising From the First Meeting in Bangkok. Thailand in 1995
7.1 Commenting on paragraph 5 of the Minutes of Meeting, Malaysia proposed a workshop on ASEAN-OSRAP. Brunei delegation requested for more information. The meeting agreed that the workshop will take into account the following matters:-
a) ASEAN members contingency plan
b) Presentation by Japan on the OSPAR Project
c) Implementation of ASEAN-OSRAP
d) Implementation of OPRC Convention

 

7.2 Japan requested all Receipient Country to inform her if there are any plans to enhance the PC System in each Country.

 

7.3 Indonesia informed the meeting about the temporary telephone number of ASEAN-OSPAR Information System Network Focal Point, 62-21-2512562. Member Countries are requested to submit to the Focal Point and update on their contact person and telephone number.

 

7.4 The meeting agreed to invite Vietnam to OSPAR Management Committee Meeting as they are now a member of ASEAN. It was agreed that Indonesia, as OS PAR Focal Point, to inform Vietnam about this project. The Philippines as the host of 3rd OSPAR Management Committee Meeting will extend an official invitation to Vietnam to attend the next meeting in Manila in 1997.

 

8 Country Reports
8.1 All ASEAN delegations presented reports on the status of the OSPAR Project Equipment and Information Network System, The reports appear as Attachment B.
